I love crossing Parisian bridges. Of the 37 bridges that span the river Seine in Paris, my favorite by far is Pont Alexandre. It connects L’Hôtel national des Invalides with Grand Palais des Champs-Elysées. Because of the stringent requirements imposed on the bridge designers (it must not obstruct the view of the Invalides), the bridge was built to hang really low over the river (it’s highest point is only 6 meters above the water surface). This low posture gives it an extra cozy vibe, which many pedestrians enjoy on a daily basis. Pont Alexandre is yet another reason why Paris is the most beautiful city in the world.
